What is Love?
Love cannot bedescribed using our words, you will never find any definition for love in any language. In Arabic you have one word, "ANA BA7EBB" you say it for everything, people, places, clothes, food...etcBut in English there's "LOVE" and "LIKE" and they describe different feelings. That's it "FEELINGS" they are made to be felt and not described, just feeling is describing.
Think about this, you use the same single word "LOVE"to describe what you feel towards your parents, brothers and sisters, friends, partner, God, Country, Religion, prophet......etc Do you feel the same? of course not, and this proves what I say, a word that cannot describe something precisely is a useless word, and here the word love just takes you near the area but never in so do not waste your time looking for a definition using any spoken language, use other things that can't be heared, written or spoken but still can be fully understood. Like the eye language this can really show what love is although can't fully show as blind people still fall in love :)Love was made to be felt, enjoyed and add happiness to our lives, just love and live"

okay i have to comment on ur theme & the way u took it & how far did u go .
u used the word love to describe a feelin.. strange isn't it but yet i must say u said it coz u can't touch us or look into our eyes but yet u gave us ur feelings & emotions through ur words
everybody can talk but not everyone can sing , some sing coz the harmony they have n their voice & others sing coz they know what to sing , to be frank wiz u i prefer people that can sing even when their silent
i think love is more deep & precious to be described only by words & but i can't deprive love of being translated , written or sung
what i wanna say different languages to describe a great deep feelin like love , words , passion , music , art , eyes language , body language , silence etc. all are ways to get u close to the meaning of love
how close ?? depends on ur way of reading & translating d words coz i particularly , read what's written on the line , between the lines & the empty spaces
another point is that i think u said that u find a word like love holding many different meanings n d same time
u might see dis as poor but i can see this what makes this word so rich coz it's just 4 letter word & u can be lost n it
generalization is not always a crime if i may say
i think u did a good blend n there coz u were so practical & not that artistic or romantic n writing but yet u showed a soft brush of feelin all over d frame .
VEry strange , ust few hours back i was ansering the same question in a certain forum...here is what i wrote:
When in love you get highly involved with everything related to you love.
Let's take the men / woman love:
you think consiously on the meeting with him, what to wear, what will he think of what i say, what will he think of what i do, what is he doing now, ti can't wait till i tell him about it, should i call him or not? What is he doing right now? is he happy? did he have lunch?.......
When you love someone or something you seek his best interest. You love your kid yet you may be tough with them for their own benefit. you love you tree but you don't think about it when you are going out with your friends yet when it is tree time you are highly involved in giving it what it needs.
Love is seeking the best interrest of the loved object, you are highly involved in this love, yet the time dedicated for the feelings and the thinking vary according to the object type / nature.

Love is an action of the spirit. If you can describe the pirit you can go to it's motionbut for suh an specific emotion I personally have different definitions. One may hear the word LOVE by my voice, but the costliest meaning of it is used very rarely by me!
